Great with fresh strawberries! Easy, refrigerated cake. Have it ready when company comes.
Ingredients:
1 angelfood cake ring (bought or homemade)
1/2 pint whipping cream, shipped stiff
6 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups crushed fresh strawberries or 1-10 ounce package frozen strawberries, thawed
1-81/2 ounce can crushed pineapple, drained
12 large marshmallows, cut in small pieces (can use mini marshmallows)
toasted coconut, optional
Directions:
1. Cut cake into 2 layers
2. Whip the cream
3. To whipped cream add sugar, vanilla, strawberries, pineapple, and marshmallows
4. Mix well
5. Then cover bottom and top layers of cake with this mixture
6. Sprinkle top and sides generously with toasted coconut OR
7. when ready to serve, place whole or sliced strawberries on each piece
8. Keep in refrigerator
