Challah bread makes the best french toast.
Ingredients:
6 slices challah
1 cup milk
2 eggs
1 pinch salt
1 teaspoon honey (optional)
1/4 teaspoon grated orange zest (optional)
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon vanilla (optional)
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1 tablespoon oil
Directions:
1. Whisk eggs and milk.
2. Add orange zest, honey and vanilla. Add salt and cinnamon.
3. Soak bread slices for 5-6 minutes, turning once.
4. Melt unsalted butter and oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.Add the bread and cook 2-3 minutes on each side or until browned.
