This is another recipe that came from a song Morgan heard when he was little. Mike doesn't like vegies, but he thinks this is full of meat, and makes it past the carrots just fine!!
Ingredients:
1 lb bag of lentils
1 lb bag of baby carrots, left whole
1 qt beef broth
1 tsp beef soup base
1 med. onion, diced
3-4 cloves garlic, mashed
butter to saute onions and garlic
1/2 tsp cumin
2 tsp liquid smoke
salt and pepper to tase
Directions:
1. Sort and rinse lentils
2. saute onion in butter. When onions are clear, add garlic and saute for a couple minutes more.
3. Combine, all ingredients in a stock pot bring to a boil then lower heat to simmer, and simmer until carrots are tender.
