NOT TOO SWEET CAKE TO BE SERVED ON THE PLATE WITH POUTRY, PORK, OR BEEF
Ingredients:
cream together
1 cup shortening - like crisco, not butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
add
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cup all pupose flour
1 cup grated carrots
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoons hot water
Directions:
1. Cream the sugar and shortening together
2. Add remaining ingredients mixing well
3. Pour into a well greased ring mold
4. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes
5. cool 10 minutes, then turn out
