This is a 1961 recipe from a Carolina Up Country Cook Book. Green cabbage with celery, white raisins soaked in sherry, pecans , apple, a little onion mixed with mayonnaise.
Ingredients:
3 cups shredded or chopped green cabbage
1 cup celery, chopped
1 cup white raisins
1/4 cup sherry
1/2 cup pecans, chopped
1 cup crisp apple, diced
1 teaspoon onion, finely cut
1/3 cup mayonnaise
Directions:
1. Soak raisins in sherry
2. Combine all ingredients, adding apple last
3. Lightly coat with mayonnaise and chill
