This recipe goes with Caramel-Apple Shortcakes Ingredients:
3 cups sugar |
1 cup water |
2 cups whipping cream |
Directions:
1. Pour sugar into a heavy 3.5-quart saucepan. Stir in 1 cup water. Bring mixture to a boil, and cook, without stirring, 15 to 20 minutes or until it turns a caramel color. Swirl mixture around pan until it turns golden amber in color. Remove from heat, and slowly add cream, stirring constantly with a long wooden spoon. (If caramel begins to clump and harden, return to low heat, and stir until smooth.) |
