This is a pretty cake, very moist, when I make it to share at work etc everyone loves it, I even had a Dr. ask me for the recipe so his wife could make it for him.
Ingredients:
canoli cake
cake ingredients
one yellow cake baked in layers - split layers when cool
16 oz no fat ricotta cheese
one 8 oz cool whip
1/3 cup confectioners sugar
2 tablespoons almond flavoring
mini chocolate chips
one instant vanilla pudding
frosting ingredients
2 small chocolate instant puddings
2 small cool whip
Directions:
1. Beat Cheese smooth. Add Cool Whip, sugar, flavoring. Mix on high.
2. Mix in dry pudding.
3. Fold in Chocolate Chips. Refrigerate for 2 hours.
4. Layer cake, cheese filling, cake, cheese filling, etc. top with last layer of cake.
5. Frosting:
6. 2 small Chocolate Instant Puddings
7. 2 small Cool Whip
8. Mix together 2 small Chocolate Instant Puddings and 2 small containers of Cool Whip, frost cake. I keep wetting a spatula or knife whatever I'm using to frost the cake, it makes it spread neater.
9. Melt a 1/2 cup chocolate chips and drizzle over cake or sprinkle with chocolate chips
