Candy apple meets cheese cake. This is a lavish dessert that you would be proud to serve at a dinner party but goes as well in a BBQ setting. Ingredients:
1 9 pastry shell -- baked |
8 ounces cream cheese -- softened |
1 can sweetened condensed milk |
1/3 cup realemon lemon juice |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
20 ounces sliced apples -- well drained |
1/4 cup red cinnamon candies |
6 tablespoons water |
2 teaspoons cornstarch |
Directions:
1. In large mixer bowl, beat cheese until fluffy.
2. Gradually beat in sweetened condensed milk until smooth.
3. Stir in lemon juice and vanilla.
4. Pour into prepared pastry shell.
5. Arrange apple slices over filling. In small saucepan, over LOW heat, dissolve cinnamon candies in 1/4 cup water.
6. Stir together remaining 2 tbs. water and cornstarch; add to cinnamon mixture.
7. Cook and stir until mixture thickens and boils.
8. Remove from heat; cool slightly.
9. Drizzle over apples.
10. Chill 3 hours or until set. Refrigerate leftovers.
