Cake Plain Pennsylvania German Recipe 1915 Ish

Found this on the net in an old cookbook, thought I would share.
Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter (or butter and lard)
1/2 cup milk
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
3 eggs
alts
2 tablespoons unsweetened chocolate
or
small fruit cake
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1 cup raisins (any dried fruit really)
Directions:
1. Mix all of the above together.
2. Cook in a 13 by 9 inch pan for 30ish minutes at 350 degrees.
3. Frost with boiled icing.
4. This is a thick batter, you really have to spread it.
5. I added more liguid then it called for and 1 less egg the second time around.
6. It is a good cake, more of a pound cake to be honest.
