Found this on the net in an old cookbook, thought I would share. Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups sugar |
1/2 cup butter (or butter and lard) |
1/2 cup milk |
2 cups flour |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
3 eggs |
alts |
2 tablespoons unsweetened chocolate |
or |
small fruit cake |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1 teaspoon ginger |
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg |
1/2 teaspoon cloves |
1 cup raisins (any dried fruit really) |
Directions:
1. Mix all of the above together. 2. Cook in a 13 by 9 inch pan for 30ish minutes at 350 degrees. 3. Frost with boiled icing. 4. This is a thick batter, you really have to spread it. 5. I added more liguid then it called for and 1 less egg the second time around. 6. It is a good cake, more of a pound cake to be honest. |
