Cabbage Soup That Tastes Like Shoney's

I found this in a local cookbook. I have made this many, many times. It makes a lot, so you can freeze some for later. Feel free to adjust the salt and pepper, as it calls for quite a lot.
Ingredients:
3/4 lb beef, ground
3/4 cup onion, chopped
3/4 cup green pepper, chopped
4 ounces tomato paste
2 lbs cabbage, shredded
1/2 cup worcestershire sauce
1 gallon water
1 (18 ounce) can tomatoes
4 beef bouillon cubes
1 tablespoon salt
1 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon black pepper
Directions:
1. Brown meat lightly in large pot.
2. Add remaining ingredients and simmer until it all comes together. Maybe 1 hours
