These are my FAVORITE cookie. My grandmother still makes these for me. Ingredients:
1/2 cup shortening |
1 cup brown sugar |
1 egg |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 cup flour |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 cup oats |
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional) |
1 cup coconut |
Directions:
1. cream shortening and brown sugar. 2. add egg and vanilla. 3. in seperate bowl sift together flour, soda, and salt. 4. add to creamed mixture. 5. add oates, nuts and coconut. 6. drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. 7. flatten with glass bottom dipped in flour. 8. bake at 325 for 12 minutes. |
