Buttermilk Oatmeal Pancakes

This is a wonderfully healthy way to make pancakes. Tastes great with pure maple syrup to keep the Glycemic sugars down as well. My family loves these pancakes. It the only ones I make now!
Ingredients:
3/4 c. old fashion oatmeal
1 1/2 c. + 2 t buttermilk (divided)
3/4 c. whole wheat flour
1 1/2 t. baking powder
3/4 t. baking soda
1/2 t. cinnamon
1/8 t. nutmeg
1/2 t. salt
1 large egg (slightly beaten)
2 t. butter (melted)
1 t. brown sugar
Directions:
1. Soak oats in 3/4 c. of the buttermilk. Set aside for 10 min.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together dry ingredients.
3. In a medium bowl, stir together egg, butter, and sugar.
4. Add the remaining 3/4 c. + 2 T. buttermilk to the oatmeal mixture.
5. Add egg mixture to oat mixture.
6. Add oat mixture to dry ingredients.
7. Spray heated pan with oil spray such as PAM.
8. Put 1/4 cup pancake mixture in pan for each pancake.
9. Cooking until edges are golden and then turn over and cook till golden.
