Buttermilk Cobbler

From some magazine, just can't say which one now. Good with any of your favorite fruits. My DH likes apple cobbler so that is what I make. I like to sprinkle a little sugar on top when it is done, and I sprinkled with cinnamon.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup margarine
1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
1 cup buttermilk
2 tablespoons baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 pinch baking soda
1 pinch salt
4 cups fresh fruit or 4 cups frozen fruit, unthawed
Directions:
1. Melt margarine in 9x13 baking pan or other deep dish casserole.
2. Combine all remaining ingredients and pour over melted margarine.
3. Distribute fruit over top of batter.
4. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
