Buttermilk Chocolate Cake

Ingredients:
cake
1 c butter
1 c water
2 t baking cocoa
2 c all-purpose flour
2 c sugar
1 t baking powder
1 t baking soda
1/2 t salt
1/2 c buttermilk
1 t vanilla extract
2 eggs
frosting
3 t butter
2 t baking cocoa
3 c confectioners' sugar
1 t vanilla extract
1/8 t salt
3 to 4 t milk or whipping cream
Directions:
1. In a saucepan, bring butter, water and cocoa to a boil.
2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
3. Add cocoa mixture; mix well.
4. Combine buttermilk and vanilla; add to batter and mix well.
5. Beat in eggs.
6. Pour into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking pan.
7. Bake at 350° for 23-27 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack.
8. FROSTING:
9. In a small saucepan over medium heat, cook and stir butter and cocoa until smooth.
10. Remove from the heat.
11. In a small mixing bowl, combine confectioners' sugar, vanilla and salt.
12. Add cocoa mixture and enough milk until frosting reaches desired consistency.
13. Frost cake.
