Buttermilk Brownies With Chocolate-buttermilk Fros...

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Brownies:
  2. Preheat oven to 350F degrees.
  3. Grease 13x9 baking pan and set aside.
  4. Combine flour, sugar, baking soda and salt - then set aside.
  5. In medium saucepan, combine butter, cocoa powder and water. Bring mixture just to a boil, stirring constantly.
  6. Remove from heat.
  7. Add chocolate mixture to flour mixture.
  8. Beat with mixer on medium speed until combined.
  9. Add eggs, buttermilk and vanilla.
  10. Beat for 1 minute more, then pour batter into prepared pan.
  11. Bake for 35 minutes, or until wooden toothpick comes out clean after insertion.
  12. Pour warm Chocolate-Buttermilk Frosting over the warm brownies, then spread evenly.
  13. Cool in pan on wire rack, then cut into bars.
  14. Frosting:
  15. In medium saucepan, combine butter, cocoa powder and buttermilk.
  16. Bring mixture to a boil.
  17. Remove from heat and add powdered sugar and vanilla.
  18. Beat until smooth.
  19. Cover and store in refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze up to 3 months.
