Butter Pecan Sauce

This is terrific over pound cake..but my favorite is ice cream
Ingredients:
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup evaporated milk
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/8 teaspoon salt
Directions:
1. heat sugar in a heavy pan over low heat, stir until dissolved and carmelized or golden.
2. Whisk in salt and milk, stir until smooth.
3. Remove from heat and add butter, vanilla and pecans -
4. Serve warm over ice cream etc.
