Butter-Pecan Rum Cake

This recipe is from the back of the box of McCormick Imitation Rum Extract.
Ingredients:
1 (18 1/2 ounce) box yellow cake mix
1 (3 1/2 ounce) package vanilla flavor instant pudding and pie filling mix, the 4-serving size box
1 cup water
1/3 cup butter, softened
3 eggs
1 tablespoon rum extract
1 cup pecans, chopped (optional)
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Beat all ingredients, except pecans, in large bowl on medium speed for 2 minutes.
3. Stir in pecans.
4. Spread batter in greased and floured tube or 13 x 9-inch pan.
5. Bake 45-50 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
