Buraczki Zasmazane Braised Beets

Buraczki is such a Polish dish. Of course beets are eaten all over the world but personally I’ve never seen them anywhere else prepared the way we prepare them in Poland. We fry them with flour, sour cream and yessss horseradish. Read more . They say that things go together like ‘peas and carrots’, well to me it should rather be as ‘beets and horseradish’
Ingredients:
4 big beets
2-3 tbs sour cream
2 tsp flour
1 tbs horseradish sauce
salt, pepper
Directions:
1. Boil the beets until soft (30-45 min). Let cool down and peel the skin off. The skin should come of by itself if you run beets under cold water. Grate beets finely and fry on a pan with a teaspoon of butter. Lower down the heat and sauté 2 more minutes. Meanwhile combine in a bowl sour cream, flour, horseradish, salt and pepper and add to the beets. Mix thoroughly and fry few more minutes. If necessary add some more sour cream or horseradish.
