My husband loves buffalo shrimp from Hooters, they are so good but pricey. So I came up with my own recipe for it and he says he likes it better. I batter all my shrimp in one step then fry them from the first I battered to the newest. That way it gives the coating a few minutes to set up before they go in the oil.
Ingredients:
1 lb large shrimp, shelled with the tip of the tail left on
1 cup flour
1 egg
2 cups panko breadcrumbs
1/8 cup water
hot oil (for frying)
buffalo wing sauce
Directions:
1. Shell the shrimp and pat dry with a paper towel.
2. Dredge shrimp in flour shaking off the extra.
3. Dip shrimp in egg beaten with a little water.
4. Coat shrimp in panko.
5. Heat oil to 375.
6. Fry for about 2 minutes or until coating is golden brown.
7. Drain on paper towels.
8. Once cooled slightly, but still hot place in freezer bag, add sauce and shake to coat.
9. Eat right away while still hot!
