This green salsa is great for dip, eggs, tacos or any food that needs a good tasting sauce with a little kick. I haven't tried it yet, but I think this would be great with a little pork meat added.
Ingredients:
1/4 cup of crisco vegetable oil
2 cups water
3 tomatillos
3 serrano chilies
2 jalapeno chilies
5 -6 dried japanese chilies
1/2 bunch cilantro
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 onion
1 teaspoon garlic powder
4 garlic cloves
1 teaspoon salt
Directions:
1. Chop onions, chilies and celantro. Mince garlic.
2. Roast the tomatillos in a pan on the stove, then chop.
3. Heat up the Crisco oil in a 2 - 3 deep pan. Saute the onion and garlic. Add all of the other ingredients and simmer on high heat until soft. (About 10 to 15 minutes.) Remove from heat and let cool about 10 minutes. Pour into a blender and puree. It's ready!
