Browned Butter Caramel Frosting

I use this for cookies, cakes, angel food, banana bars, anything that you want a hint of rich, caramel-y flavor added to. It's very rich, and full of flavor - great on butter cookies!
Ingredients:
6 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup cream or milk
2 cups powdered sugar
Directions:
1. In a small saucepan, gently simmer butter just until it starts to change color (don’t let it burn – you just want to see the color change ever so slightly).
2. Remove pan from heat and stir in brown sugar and cream.
3. Return to heat and bring mixture to a boil; gently simmer for 1 minute.
4. Remove pan from heat again.
5. Stir in powdered sugar, beating until frosting is smooth and creamy.
6. This frosting begins to harden as it cools, so if this happens before you are done frosting, just stir in a bit of cream or milk until thin enough to spread again.
