Broccoli Salad. I am a believer. I have never been a fan of broccoli but this won me over. This has won everyone over who has ever eaten it. This is loaded with lots of the good stuff as in fried bacon and cheddar cheese. Read more . This is best day before serving. No matter how much of this my mother makes for my family and gatherings its gone.
Ingredients:
this recipe use to have a recipe but over time it became adjusted to our quantity. trust me you will eat this for light lunches all week
2 bags broccoli, cut into pieces or 3 bunches broccoli, cut cutting most of the stems off using as much as the tops and cut tops into nice pieces not tiny but not huge pieces.
1 pound bacon fried crumbled add to broccoli, or buy real bacon bits
1 pound bag 14 oz size shredded cheddar cheese, we just use the large one. add to taste.
dressing mix together
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons vinegar
pour dressing over broccoli salad. may look dry but it needs to sit. if it is make more dressing. depends on broccoli
original recipe
1 bunch broccoli, stems removed cut up
1/2 pound shredded cheddar
1/2 pound crumbled fried bacon
dressing: 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 1/4 cup sugar, 2 tblsp vinegar
Directions:
1. Cut broccoli up in small pieces.
2. Add bacon
3. Add cheese
4. Mix the dressing up, mayo, vinegar, sugar
5. Pour over salad
6. Let sit
7. You may need to make more dressing.
8. This is so delicious. I have tried others but I prefer this one with no onion, raisens cauliflower, noodles. I like it simple and plain.
