A good way of getting one of the five food groups Beans into your diet
Ingredients:
1tbsp butter
1tsp oil
2 onions
1 leek
1 garlic
2 pints of water
1 bay leaf
sprig of rosemary
sprig of thyme
1 lb broad beans
12 fl oz milk
ground nutmeg
salt and pepper
chopped bacon
Directions:
1. Saute onions and garlic season
2. add water and herbs bring to the boil
3. simmer add beans
4. fry the bacon
5. stir in bacon to soup
6. add salt pepper and nutmeg
7. simmer for 10 minutes
