Bread Pudding Deluxe

This humble dessert has been modified to be presentable for dinner parties! Best served warm and tastes even better the day after.
Ingredients:
6 slices seedless white italian bread
50 g sugar
1 liter milk
30 ml margarine
2 eggs
5 ml vanilla extract
115 g margarine
200 g sugar
1 egg
5 ml vanilla extract
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 180°C.
2. Cut bread into cubes.
3. Place in large shallow ovenproof dish.
4. Sprinkle with sugar.
5. Heat milk and margarine to lukewarm.
6. Beat eggs and vanilla extract and add to milk.
7. Pour over bread and leave to soak inches.
8. Bake for 40 mins til set.
9. TOPPING:.
10. Beat topping ingredients together and spread evenly over bread pudding as soon as it comes out the oven.
11. Place pudding back into oven and bake for a further 20- 25 mins till well set and golden brown.
12. Serve plain or with icecream.
