When making pizza I use this particular pizza dough recipe and then husband makes the pizza sauce and does the rest of the pizza. Initially the recipe called for a combination of whole wheat flour and bread flour. Read more . We prefer the bread flour alone. The dough produces a crisp crust.
Ingredients:
1 cup of room temperature water
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons oregano
3 cups of bread flour
1 1/2 teaspoons yeast
Directions:
1. Follow the directions for your particular bread machine in regard to the order of the ingredients.
2. The two bread machines I have had call for the water first and the rest of the ingredients follow.
3. Use the setting that is for dough.
4. This particular recipe is for a 1 large pizza or the equivalent for a 1 1/2 pound loaf of bread.
5. After the dough is done, place on a lightly oiled pizza pan and turn any excess dough under itself to form a high crust.
6. Cover and let rise for about 30 minutes.
7. Proceed with favorite pizza sauce and toppings (homemade or purchased)
