It was first featured in a 2008 episode of Guy Fieri's show Guy's Big Bite, in an episode titled Stylin Steak. I thought the cocktail was really good, and I hope you enjoy it, too. The ingredient list includes Cachaca, a Brazilian rum-like liqueur (which is what I use). But in the directions, it doesn't mention when to add cachaca but does include rum. So I think if you don't have Cachaca on hand, you can use rum instead. It might not have the exact same flavor as Cachaca, but it would probably be an acceptable substitute in a pinch.
Ingredients:
1 lime, sliced
2 ounces cachaca (or rum)
1 1/2 ounces pomegranate juice
2 teaspoons sugar
ice
Directions:
1. Chill a martini glass.
2. Muddle a few slices of lime and place in a cocktail shaker. Add Cachaca (or rum), pomegranate juice, sugar, and ice, and shake about 10 times. Pour into a chilled martini glass and garnish with lime slice.
