Brandied Cranberries For Ice Cream

CRANBERRIES JUBILEE This is a recipe I obtained from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Harrelson Estate in Detroit, Michigan in 1984. This is tried and true. It is extremely good over ice cream. Read more . Enjoy.
Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
1-1/2 cups water
2 cups fresh cranberries
1/4 cup brandy
vanilla ice cream
Directions:
1. Combine sugar and water in a saucepan stirring to dissolve sugar.
2. Bring to a boil and boil 5 minutes.
3. Add cranberries and bring to a boil again.
4. Cook another 5 minutes on slightly reduced heat.
5. Pour into a heat proof dish or chafing dish.
6. Heat brandy.
7. Ignite heated brandy with a match and carefully pour over the cranberry mixture.
8. Blend brandy gently into the sauce and serve over ice cream.
