Bow Ties With Palamino Sauce |

This is from the Sterling Inn in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Ingredients:
1 tablespoon butter or 1 tablespoon margarine |
1 small onion, chopped |
1 banana pepper, chopped |
2 garlic cloves, chopped |
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour |
3/4 cup whole milk |
1/2 cup heavy cream (or whipping cream) |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 1/4 cups spaghetti sauce (jarred) |
1 (16 ounce) package bow tie pasta (farfalle) |
1/4 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated |
1/4 cup fresh basil leaf, sliced |
Directions:
1. In nonstick 12-inch skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion, pepper, and garlic, and cook until vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally. 2. Stir in flour; cook 1 minute. Stir in milk, cream, and salt; heat to boiling over medium-high heat. 3. Stir in spaghetti sauce and cook over medium heat 10 minutes; stirring occasionally. 4. Meanwhile, heat large saucepot of salted water to boiling over high heat. Add pasta and cook as label directs. 5. Drain pasta well; return to saucepot. Add sauce, Parmesan, and basil, toss well to coat pasta. |
