Bold On Flavor Butterscotch Cake

BOLD ON FLAVOR BUTTERSCOTCH CAKE This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Pittman Estate in Hurst, Texas in 1993.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter
1 cup flour
1/2 cup chopped pecans
8 ounces cream cheese softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup frozen whipped topping thawed
2-1/2 cups milk
2 small packages butterscotch pudding
3 cups frozen whipped topping thawed
Directions:
1. Cream butter, flour and pecans then press into rectangular pan and bake at 350 for 10 minutes.
2. Cream cheese and powdered sugar then fold in whipped topping and spread on cooled crust.
3. Cook milk and pudding until thick then cool completely and spread on cheese layer.
4. Spread remaining frozen whipped topping over top and refrigerate several hours.
5. Garnish with butterscotch morsels if desired.
