If you like dumplings, you will probably like this. I don't know where the recipe came from except my Mother used to make this when we were kids. The blueberries are cooked for only as long as it takes for them to cook into a sauce, so cook time is only for the dumplings when put in the sauce.
Ingredients:
1 quart blueberries
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
2 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon shortening
3/4 cup milk
Directions:
1. Boil blueberries, water and sugar, covered.
2. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt & sugar.
3. Cut in butter & shortening.
4. Add milk to make soft dough.
5. Drop by tablespoons into the hot blueberry sauce.
6. Cover and cook 15 minutes without uncovering.
