BLUE CHEESE AND PEAR SALAD This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Gentry Estate in Fate, Texas in 1986.
Ingredients:
1 bunch arugula torn
1 head romaine lettuce torn
3 medium fresh cored and thinly sliced pears
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup blue cheese
1 medium garlic cloves minced
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
3 tablespoons chopped toasted walnuts
Directions:
1. Divide arugula and romaine among plates then arrange pears on greens.
2. Combine buttermilk, cheese, garlic and pepper.
3. Toss and pour over lettuce and sprinkle with walnuts and serve.
