Blue Buttermilk Dressed Tomatoes And Cucumbers

Crisp cucumbers and ripe cherry tomatoes straight from the garden are dressed with a creamy blue cheese dressing for a perfect summer salad.
Ingredients:
1pt cherry tomatoes, halved, or grape tomatoes
1 large cucumber or 2 smaller ones, chopped
3/4 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup mayo
1t dijon
1/2t dry mustard
1-2t dried dill weed or 1t fresh
2t fresh chives, chopped
1/2 cup blue cheese crumbles(i used gorgonzola)
kosher or sea salt and fresh ground pepper
a squirt of fresh lemon juice or a dash of red wine or balsamic vinegar
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients other than blue cheese, tomatoes and cucumbers and lemon juice in medium bowl.
2. Whisk well.
3. Add half the blue cheese crumbles and stir to combine.
4. In large bowl, with lid, add cucumbers and tomatoes and pour dressing over them(reserve some of the dressing, if desired... you might not want it all on their, or you might want to serve it on the side..some like more than others :)
5. Toss well and refrigerate. Add remaining blue cheese and lemon juice and toss once more, just before serving.
6. OR, if serving immediately, just go ahead and add it all to the dressing, toss, and serve! :)
