This is a delightful summer drink to have waiting for you in your freezer on a hot day! My Mom's neighbour Blanche Neddo passed this on. Blanche was a great story teller and I remember one story in particular that involved a man being carried off by an Eagle. Read more . Now I'm older I'm wondering if Blanche had already started in on the Slush!
Ingredients:
9 cups water
1 cup sugar
1 large can of frozen orange juice concentrate
1 large can of frozen lemonade concentrate
1 26 oz. bottle of gin, vodka or alcool (whatever your poison)
7-up or ginger ale
Directions:
1. Bring the water and the sugar to a rolling boil in a large saucepan on the stove. Simmer for 15 minutes. Remove from heat. Let cool.
2. Add the can of frozen orange juice, the can of frozen lemonade and the bottle of your poison.
3. Mix well. Freeze in a 1 gallon ice cream pail in your freezer.
4. To serve, fill a glass 3/4's full of frozen slush and then top up with 7-Up.
5. Make a toast to Blanche!
