BLACKBERRY STREUSEL COFFEECAKE This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Knight Estate in Wills Point, Texas in 1993.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup brown sugar packed
3 tablespoons flour
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 tablespoons butter
3/4 cup chopped walnuts

2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 teaspoons grated lemon rind
3 eggs
1 cup sour cream
2 cups fresh blackberries
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 then grease rectangular pan and set aside.
2. Combine brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, butter and walnuts until mixture resembles fine crumbs.
3. Stir in nuts and reserve.
4. Cream butter until fluffy then add sugar and lemon rind and beat well.
5. Add eggs one at a time and beat well after each addition.
6. Mix dry ingredients then add dry mixture alternately with sour cream to creamed mixture.
7. Blend well after each addition then spread batter evenly in prepared baking pan.
8. Sprinkle berries over batter then sprinkle reserved topping over berries.
9. Bake for 30 minutes and serve warm.
