Black Bean Soup

Add some crusty bread to this soup for a rustic meal! This is a family favorite!
Ingredients:
1 tsp. ground cumin
1 tsp. cayenne pepper
3/4 tsp. ground black pepper
1/2 tsp. hot pepper sauce
1 lb.dry black beans, soaked overnight
4 tsp. diced jalapeno peppers
6 c. chicken broth
3 medium chopped cloves of garlic
1 tbsp. chili powder
Directions:
1. Drain the black beans, and then rinse.
2. Saute garlic in EVOO.
3. Combine the beans, jalapenos, and chicken broth in your slow cooker.
4. Add garlic powder, chili powder, cumin, cayenne, and the pepper.
5. Add several tsp. of your favorite hot pepper sauce.
6. Cook on High for 4 hrs.
7. Reduce heat to Low, and continue cooking for 2 hrs, or until dinner is ready.
