Bits-N-Pieces Granola Bars

I love this recipe because I can constantly change things up a bit. As long as you keep the same amount of dry vs wet ingredients you can add whatever you like!
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups crispy rice cereal
2 cups old fashioned oats (or quick cooking)
1/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup dried dates
1/4 cup sweetened coconut
1/4 cup sliced almonds
1/4 cup pecans, chopped
1/4 cup sunflower seeds
1/4 cup wheat germ
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 cup light corn syrup
2/3 cup crunchy peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions:
1. Combine all dry ingredients EXCEPT brown sugar in a large bowl.
2. In a small sauce pan combine brown sugar and light corn syrup.
3. Heat until just boiling while stirring constantly (do not cook longer to avoid scorching sugar).
4. Remove from heat. Stir in peanut butter and vanilla.
5. Add peanut butter mixture to dry ingredients.
6. Quickly combine, then press into an ungreased 9 x13 pan. I wet my hands with cool water, then firmly press the mixture as flat as possible.
7. Once cool cut into 12 bars.
8. Enjoy!
