This recipe was designed to be easy and great. And best of all, if you use your own spices it is cheaper and better than commercial made ones.
Ingredients:
1 lb lean ground beef
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon msg
1 teaspoon seasoning salt
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon brown sugar or 1/2 tablespoon splenda sugar substitute, brown blend
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon hamburger seasoning, by grillmates
3 teaspoons emeril's original essence
1 teaspoon barbecue seasoning
1/8 cup ketchup
1/8 cup worcestershire sauce
1/8 cup liquid smoke
Directions:
1. Place all dry ingredients into a gallon size storage bag. Mix until even. Put in wet ingredients. Mix well. Put in meat. Massage until just mixed (if you over mix your texture will not be good). Take a tablespoon and level it off and place in hand. Roll gently into a round ball and smash it thin, but not too thin. Place into a dehydrator at 150 degrees or a oven on a cooling rack at same temperature for 6-7 hours.
