This is a good way to cook enough brown rice to fill a 4 pan. I adopted it from the book The Best Recipe.
Ingredients:
1 gallon brown rice
2 cups brown rice
7 quarts water
1 tablespoon salt
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375.
2. Spread the raw rice in a 4 pan.
3. Bring the water to a boil, covered. It is important to keep the water covered so you don't lose any as it heats.
4. As soon as the water is boiling, pour it into the rice. Cover the pan tightly with a double layer of foil.
5. Bake the rice for 55 minutes, until the water is gone and the rice is tender.
6. Remove from oven. You can keep the rice in a warmer until ready to serve. Fluff before serving.
