Best Caramel Fluff Pie

This is an outstanding pie! A great addition to any meal but really great to share at holiday meals! A wonderful treat to eat.
Ingredients:
baked pie crust
1/2 lb. caramels
1 cup milk
dash of salt
1 envelope of gelatin
1/4 cup water
1 cup heavy whipping cream-whipped
1 tsp. vanilla
1 t. sugar
1/2 cup chopped pecans
Directions:
1. In a double boiler melt caramels with milk and salt.
2. Keep stirring caramel mixture until melted.
3. In a bowl:
4. Dissolve gelatin in 1/4 cup water.
5. Stir until dissolved.
6. Add to caramel mixture.
7. Chill until partially set and mixture is like thickened pudding.
8. In mixing bowl:
9. whip cream until thick with sugar and vanilla.
10. Fold whipped cream into caramel/gelatin mixture.
11. Chill for 2 hours.
12. Pour into baked and cooled crust.
13. Sprinkle pecans on top.
