Berry Breakfast Power Bar

WHEATFREE/DAIRYFREE/EGGFREE. SUITABLE FOR VEGETARIANS. Breakfast/Powerbar - I created this myself as an energy snack for my 6'1 fifteen year old health conscious son. Kids love them. Great HRT bar too! Really easy to make. Will keep minimum 2 weeks in sealed container.
Ingredients:
250 g dessert apples, chopped
30 ml lemon juice
150 g soft margarine (olive or vegetable)
75 g dark brown sugar
75 g golden syrup
325 g oats
15 g oat bran
25 g ground flax seeds
40 g dried cranberries
20 g dried blueberries
20 g sesame seeds
30 g sunflower seeds
50 g brazil nuts (shaved)
Directions:
1. Bring apples to boil, then simmer for 10 minutes until soft.
2. Melt margarine, sugar & syrup in a large saucepan, then remove from heat.
3. Add berries to hot mixture to allow time to plump up.
4. Add all other ingredients. Mix well.
5. Pat into 30cm x 20cm (12 x 8 )pan.
6. Bake 180c for 25 minutes.
7. Allow to cool for 15mins before cutting and removing from pan onto cooling rack.
