A new week a new bento. :) I hope everyones been enjoying the recipes so far I put up. This bento is pretty simple. Boiled veggies with two rice balls and some scrambled egg with the leftover rice with a little bit of a cabbage stir fry. Read more . Onigiri means Riceball in japanese.
Ingredients:
hand full of frozen mixed veggies
1/2 cup rice + 1 cup water for rice cooker
some salt for one onigiri
a dab of soy sauce and sesame seed for the other onigiri.
1 large egg whisked. you can add some sugar to it if you like.
1 small handfull cabage chopped up.
cap full of sesame seeds
1 garlic clove minced.
1 tsp rice vinegar
Directions:
1. Put rice in rice cooker and let it cook. While its cooking put on some water to boil for the veggies. When the water is boiling put the veggies in and cook according to package directions.
2. Set veggies in a bowl to cool after done. When the rice is done create two riceballs to fit the bento box.(Or lunch box.) Put salt on one of the onigiri. For the other mix the rice gently with some sesame seed then create the shape. Set it on a plate and pour a small ammount of soy sauce right on top.
3. Cook the cabage garlic and sesame seed together in some oil or olive oil. Add the vinegar when it starts to look done. Take up let cool.
4. Take the egg and cook it to scrambled egg and put the rest of the rice in with it and let cool. Put everything in your bento and enjoy!
