Beer Bottom Chicken

This recipe is from the Murphy family reunion cookbook. My Uncle shared this one with us. I hope you enjoy. I really like it.
Ingredients:
dry rub
1 tsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. savory
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp. dry yellow mustard
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 tbl. sea salt
basting spray
one 12 oz. can of beer
1 cup cider vinegar
2 tbl. olive oil
2 tbl. balsamic vinegar
Directions:
1. Mix the rub in a small bowl. Set aside.
2. Wash, dry season the chicken generously inside and out with the rub.
3. Work the mixture well into the skin and under the skin wherever possible.
4. Place in a medium. bowl, cover and set aside at room temperature for 20 min.
5. Pour half beer into a spray bottle add cider, olive oil and vinegars and set aside.
6. Place the chicken over the beer can with half the beer left in the can
7. Spray the chicken through our the cooking time with the Basting spray.
8. Place on grill, shut cover and cook for 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours. Internal temp. 170-175.
9. You may also cook this in oven
