I can't really say how long it will take to fry these, you will just have to judge that yourself. It will depend on the size of fries your making, some like them small and some like steak fries, either way Batter Fries are really good
Ingredients:
2 large potatoes (russets are best for french fries)
2 whole eggs
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup corn starch
pinch salt and pepper
1 (12oz) bottle favorite beer
milk enough to soak fries
flour enough to dredge fries
oil
Directions:
1. Combine dry ingredients in a mixing bowl. Add the beer and eggs mixing constantly. If the mixture seems too thick, adjust consistency by adding more beer or some water. Allow to rest at least one hour before using.
2. Peel and cut the potatoes into fries. Soak in milk.
3. Coat fries in the additional flour so the batter will adhere better to fries.
4. Fill frying pan will oil (enough to complete cover fries). Heat oil to
5. approximately 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
6. Dip fries in batter and drop in oil. Cook until golden brown. Remove from oil and place on paper towels to dry.
7. Variations: The same procedures will work well with shrimp, other
8. vegetables, chicken strips or your own creations.
