Ingredients:
1 package hormel roast beef refrigerated entree(found in the refrigerated section of the grocery)
6 cups beef broth
1 cup burgundy wine
1 cup chopped onions
1 envelop lipton's onion soup mix(dry)
1 cup chopped celery
4 cloves garlic, minced
1can whole potatoes, drained and cut into small cubes
1 can carrots, whole or cut up
1 pound sliced mushrooms
1 stick butter
1 package uncle ben's ready rice(wild rice)
1 package brown gravy mix
1/2 cup water
salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoon garlic salt
2 dashes hot sauce
Directions:
1. In large soup pot, Saute onions,garlic,mushrooms and celery in butter until tender.
2. Add broth and onion soup mix and bring to a boil.
3. Whisk together the gravy mix and water.
4. Stir into the soup.
5. Chop meat into bite size pieces and add to pot(add juices too).
6. Add potatoes and carrots , stir well.
7. Lower heat to medium/low heat,cover and cook for 15 minutes.
8. Stir in rice and burgundy and continue to cook for 5.
9. Season with salt, pepper, garlic salt and hot sauce.
10. Serve with hot bread or crackers.
