Beef Stroganoff

My favorite Stroganoff recipe. This was the recipe my sister used when she was teaching me to cook. That was almost 30 years ago.
Ingredients:
1 lb lean beef, cubed
2 beef bouillon cubes
4 tablespoons sour cream
1 1/2 cups hot water
3 tablespoons flour
6 tablespoons butter
8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
1/2 cup chopped onion
salt and pepper
1 lb wide egg noodles
Directions:
1. Cook beef slowly in butter.
2. Dissolve bouillon cubes in hot water to make broth.
3. Add flour to broth, whisk until smooth.
4. Add the following to the cooked beef:.
5. flour mixture, sour cream, onion and mushrooms.
6. Season to taste.
7. Keep warm on lowest setting in skillet, 20 minutes.
8. DO NOT SIMMER!
9. Serve over cooked egg noodles.
