My favorite stir fry recipe. Beef can easily be replaced with tofu, chicken, pork or any other protein.
Ingredients:
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup vegetable broth
2 garlic cloves, pressed
1 tbsp ginger
2 tsp sesame oil
2 tsp rice vinegar
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
2 tsp sugar
1 lb sirloin, sliced
1 tbsp canola oil
2 red bell peppers, sliced
1/2 yellow onion, sliced
1 cup green beans
1 tbsp corn starch
Directions:
1. Slice beef thinly and place in a bowl with a few splashes of soy sauce.
2. Meanwhile, mix up a sauce with the first eight ingredients (soy sauce through sugar).
3. Heat oil in a pan and cook beef slices, about two minutes per side. Remove beef to a plate or bowl.
4. In the same pan, cook the onions for about three minutes.
5. Drop in the bell peppers and green beans and cook for about two minutes.
6. Return the beef to the pan and stir to combine.
7. Pour the sauce into the pan and all to heat through.
8. After the contents of the pan are simmering, sprinkle in the cornstarch and mix quickly so that all the white disappears.
9. Allow the sauce to thicken for at least a minute.
10. Remove from heat and serve over brown rice.
