A simple yet tasty beef jerky recipe
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons salt
2 teaspoons onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 1/2 teaspoons ground black pepper
2 tablespoons lawry's seasoned salt
1 teaspoon ground red pepper
5 lbs beef (trimmed of fat and sliced in 1/8 inch thick strips)
2 1/2 teaspoons liquid smoke
1 1/2 cups soy sauce
1 1/2 cups worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons frank's red hot sauce (or and hot sauce)
Directions:
1. Mix first 6 ingredients in a shaker.
2. Layer beef in a large bowl with each layer 90 degrees from the previous and sprinkle with seasoning.
3. Combine last 4 ingredients and pour over seasoned beef mixture.
4. Cove and refrigerate overnight to 4 days.
5. Remove from marinade and place in dehydrator and sprinkle with more of the seasoning mix. Run till dehydrated chewy and delectable.
6. If you don't have a dehydrator or smoker place on wire racks and put in your oven at 150°F till done.
