Ingredients:
1 1/2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3/4 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
dash of white pepper
Directions:
1. Melt butter in a heavy saucepan over low heat; add flour, stirring until smooth. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add milk; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly. Stir in salt and pepper.
