Bbq Black Beans With Rum

Never was much of a fan of black beans til I tried this recipe. Made it for hubby cause he is a fan, ended up loving it myself. Do need to keep an eye after adding the beans. First time I made this was a complete mess. Read more . But tried again and was delicious.
Ingredients:
1 cup onions, diced
4 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and chopped
1 tbsp evoo
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup molasses
1/2 cup dark rum
1/4 cup mustard
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp hot sauce
1/2 tsp ginger
3 (15 ounce) cans black beans, drained
Directions:
1. Heat tbsp of olive oil in large pan.
2. Add onion, garlic, and jalapenos to pan.
3. Cook five minutes or until onions are tender.
4. Stir in ketchup and remaining ingredients except beans.
5. Bring to a boil.
6. Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
7. Stir in the beans, and simmer for 1 hour over very low heat stirring occasionally.
8. Watch carefully so beans don't stick to the pan.
9. Can also add a bit of smoked sausage with the beans.
