  1. Soak Navy Beans over night in room temp water, drain before adding to Dutch oven
  2. In a saute' pan cook bacon to render most of fat but not brown
  3. Add onion and cook till tender, drain off fat
  4. In a large Dutch oven put all ingredients and bring to boil
  5. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook stirring often to keep from sticking cooking time will be from 3 1/2 hours to 5 hours till
  6. Beansare soft and tender
  7. You can also premake these and put a pan of them in your smoker while smoking them Ribs or Pork Shoulders for extra smokey flavor.
